Easy Knit Baby Hat Patterns for Beginners Free

Prepare yourself for cuteness because this post is chock full of it! We've got over 25 baby hat knitting patterns for your viewing pleasure today (all free patterns by the way!) and there are also plenty of pictures of babies wearing said baby hats. So it's basically cuteness overload!

Basic Baby Hat Knitting Pattern – Free!

So how do you knit a baby hat anyway? If you are a beginner knitter, don't worry, you are in the right place! We've got plenty of beginner friendly baby hat knitting patterns for you today that will walk you through the process. I recommend starting with a more basic pattern. Also, hats that are knit flat in back and forth rows on straight needles can be more approachable than hats knit in the round on double pointed needles or a circular needle if you're not already familiar with knitting in the round. So keep that in mind!

Here's a quick note for the more experienced knitters out there. Trust me, not all of the baby knit hat patterns we are featuring today are super easy. We've also got plenty of designs with more complicated stitchwork and/or construction so you can find that happy medium between ease and interest!

But what I really want to talk about is the variety! As it turns out, there are all sorts of different baby hat knitting patterns. Yeah there's beanies, but there are also quirky little gnome hats, adorable little bonnet style hats, and little hats with animal themes like bears and foxes! Fair warning, you are almost definitely going to have a hard time picking which pattern to knit, so you better get to scrolling so you can peruse all your options!
